It's time to begin your safari. Welcome to Tanzania! After we greet you and provide you with the trip briefing, we'll take you out to help you discover why so many people think Tanzania is the best place in Africa to go on safari.

The streets of Arusha are fantastic places for you to learn a little more about local life in a northern Tanzanian city. Apart from the endless fascination of life on these busy streets, there are museums, markets, and a rewarding local food scene for you to experience.

Welcome to Tanzania! Your African safari adventure begins today as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our team will be ready to greet and assist you before your transfer to Arusha.
After completing arrival formalities, meet our representative and enjoy a comfortable road transfer to Arusha. Sit back and take in your first views of Tanzania as you journey to your accommodation, where you can relax and prepare for the exciting safari experience ahead.

Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be transferred to your accommodation, where you can unwind and settle in after your journey. Take the rest of the day to relax, enjoy the hotel's facilities, and prepare for the exciting safari adventure that begins tomorrow.

Day 2

Tarangire National Park

If you’ve never been to Tarangire (and even if you have) you’re in for a real treat. Tarangire is filled with giants – baobab trees all across the park, as well as elephants, lots of them. But that’s just the beginning. Of the big cats, you’ll probably see lions, and cheetahs and leopards are around, too. And it’s impossible to miss the wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Your backdrop for all of this is one of the prettiest in northern Tanzania, with a memorable mix of river woodland, open plains and rolling hills. And some vantage points to take it all in.

Transfer by Road, Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Come with us as we look for lions, elephants and so much more amid the baobab trees and classic safari scenery of Tarangire National Park.

Join us for a picnic in Tarangire National Park, where you get to eat great food while surrounded by nature.

Rest of Day

You'll be heading down more safari trails in search of animals in Tarangire National Park when we take you on a guided game drive. This is the best thing about many safaris, and you'll hopefully see many animals.

Serengeti National Park

Unesco World Heritage–listed Serengeti National Park will almost certainly be one of the highlights of your safari, and it's the kind of place that very quickly becomes a favorite. That's partly because of the wildlife: this is one of the best places anywhere to see lions, leopards and cheetahs. Although every big cat sighting is special, they're only a part of the story here: there's a good chance you'll also see elephants, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffaloes and spotted hyenas and much more. Many travelers' love affair with the Serengeti is also because of its landscapes: expect vast savannah grasslands, acacia trees and pretty hill country.

Transfer by Road, Jua Manyara Lodge via Ngorongoro conservation area to Serengeti National Park

Have a brief stop at the Ngorongoro Crater Viewpoint for a briefing and to enjoy the spectacular crater views before continuing your journey into the Serengeti.

Afternoon

Going on a guided game drive in Serengeti National Park is an incredible safari experience. This afternoon your guide will help look for big cats, elephants and many other different animals as you explore the Serengeti's famed savannah grasslands.

Ngorongoro Crater

Today you’ll visit Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most beautiful natural sights in Africa, a place where you’ll experience otherworldly beauty with extraordinary wildlife. Watch as, from above, morning mist rolls up and over the crater rim, and notice how the steep walls suggest a place unlike any other. Down below on the crater floor, explore a lost world preserved in a state of pristine isolation, one that shelters lions and hyenas, elephants and black rhinos, flamingos and golden jackals. There are also forests, hippo-filled lakes, a salt pan and hyena dens, and you’ll never lose the sense that you’ve stumbled into a safari theme park where everything’s wild.

Transfer by Road, Karatu Villas Lodge to Ngorongoro Crater

Morning

Embark on an early morning Big Five safari in Ngorongoro Crater, in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and rhinos.

On this morning's guided game drive, we'll take you down into Ngorongoro Crater; the drive down is one of the most thrilling possible approaches for a day of wildlife viewing. You'll be down in the crater for most of the day looking for lions, hyenas, black rhinos and more.

Join us for a picnic in Ngorongoro Crater, where you get to eat great food while surrounded by nature.

Rest of Day

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater on a guided game drive is one of East Africa's best safari experiences. You'll spend most of the day getting to know this special place and its wildlife.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park will allow you to tick off so many unique safari highlights, including many that you just won’t find elsewhere. Unlike the elephants you’ll see in other parks, Lake Manyara’s inhabit dense forest – there’s nothing quite like your experience of an elephant suddenly emerging from behind the nearest tree. Also, you’re just as likely to see lions here draped along a branch high in a tree as down on the ground. And baboons. Lots of baboons. The views you’ll see here, too, persist in your memory long after you’ve returned home, thanks to the combination of lake, forest and sheer cliffs, all within just a few kilometres.
